Total Escape
The objective was to build a home theatre that offered a complete sense of escape and provide a total theatre experience. The challenge for Barnard & Speziale Design Associates and Howell & Associates was to create whole home integration and a cohesive design, and yet deliver a lower level that popped with excitement.
Today you walk downstairs of this elegant country home and you know you are in a special area – a world of theatre, games, entertainment and fun. In other words, a complete escape.
The home has been entirely integrated for audio and visual as well as state-of-the-art security. While things like trim, moulding and flooring provide that consistent cohesive design throughout the home, the lower level is truly a remarkable achievement where the owners can impress their guests, have fun and enjoy their favourite movies uninterrupted.
Hollywood prints along the hallway walls and accent pieces such as giant movie reels lead you to a theatre that is loaded with high-end equipment to deliver a big performance for a totally professional theatre experience. The theatre was designed by Howell & Associates and the lower level was built by Hallmark Homes. The lower level is an “amazing space for entertaining and fun," says Morley Barnard.
