Canadian golf legend, Mike Weir, has officially lost his PGA tour status following his worst round – ever.
The former Green Jacket winner recently shot a 36-hole total of 22 over par to miss the cut at last week’s Honda Classic.
The Ontario native has lost his fully exempt status on the PGA Tour for the first time since the 1998 season.
Sliding out from the top-125 is a huge fall from grace as Weir was once ranked the third best golfer in the world and is currently placed 12th on the all-time earnings list.
This is by no means career ending, however, it is sure to be a devastating blow to his confidence. Hopefully we see Weir regain his form and, eventually, take golf by storm. Again.
