Banquet of Burgers

Yes Virginia, there is a hamburger heaven – and it’s called The Yellow Griffin. Though this pub may be small, the menu is big: the menu offers over 35 different kinds of hamburgers.
If you're begging for beef, love lamb, take turkey, choose chicken, savour salmon or pick pork, invest in veggie, there’s a patty for you. For the adventurous, there’s the Skippy Dipper ($8.45), with crunchy peanut butter and strawberry jam. Topping-phobes can eat too, with the Plain! Plain! Plain! version.
Some burgers – although probably very delicious – seem just out of our comfort zone: the St. Peter’s ($11.45) chicken breast is served with roe (fish eggs) and a smashed shrimp. The English Breakfast Burger ($11.15) comes with Buckingham baked beans, HP Sauce and a royal fried egg. Sounds golly good.
Burgers and beer aside, weekly entertainment includes Poker Thursdays & live music every Tuesday. Johnny Devil and the Screamin’ Demons are a good old fashioned crazy, fun power trio playing everything from classic rock to Celtic folk to weird comedy numbers, starting around 10 p.m. every Tuesday.
