In the Mind of...



There are very few things that can tear a golfer away from his or her game when on course. Lunch can wait until after 18, last night’s hockey game becomes secondary, and cell phones, although close by, are not glued to hand. But, like most things in life, there is always an exception.
Maybe it’s the short shorts; maybe it’s the break from overwhelming testosterone; maybe it’s just the stereotypical “macho" thing to do. But, let me tell you, for whatever reason, when you’re about to crank that ball down the 10th fairway and the perky blonde comes barreling around the corner despite how important that next shot is, all attention is now shifted to one thing and one thing only: The beer cart girl.
In fact, I can tell you from five years of beer cart experience that not only does the beer cart girl steal the attention from the birdie at hand, she also manages to turn a group of otherwise grown up men into eye roll inducing characters. Even if you’re not the guy in the group who begins to morph into someone much different than his normal composed self at the sight of the cart girl, you’re inevitably going to be nodding along with me. Why? Because you’re the guy rolling your eyes with me behind Mr. “Hey cutie, come here often?"
