The playoff drive is very much alive in the NHL right now as the Toronto Maple Leafs look to make up some ground on the eighth seeded Buffalo Sabres with a victory tonight in Detroit.
This, however, is no easy task, as the Red Wings are gripping second place in the Western Conference quite firmly.
The Leafs, coming off a 3-0 win in Minnesota on Tuesday and a 4-3 win in Colorado on Thursday, will be wrapping up their road trip tonight, before heading home to play the Sabres on Tuesday.
The two points are crucial to both clubs, but to the Leafs even more so.
Look for a good, hard fought original six matchup.
