The province of Ontario is home to an untold number of destinations for the would-be day-tripper, many of which have plans to go all out with their programming when they get that spring travel itch.
Outside of Ottawa, Fulton’s Pancake House and Sugar Bush is a popular destination. The restaurant and Maple Shoppe are open come spring. Activities there include hay rides, tours of the farm, trail games, face painting and music on the weekends. The farm also sells its own line of maple bath and body products.
However, if you happen to be cruising through the other end of the province, The Pinery Provincial Park has yurts for rent, even in the winter, plus trails for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, skating and tobogganing.
