
Looking for the cure to Olympic withdrawal? Check out the XXXVIII running of the Iditarod which gets mushing in Alaska this Friday. Lance Mackey, the Jimmie Johnson of sled dog racing and his team of faithful huskies will try to win the 17 day 1150 mile race from Anchorage to Nome for the fourth consecutive year. His father Dick was one the founders of the prestigious mush-a-thon and won the race in 1978 so lance has got a great pedigree. Sled dog racing was a demonstration sport at the 1932 Olympic Games in Lake Placid.
